Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Queen Anne style dining chairs typically feature cabriole legs, vasiform back splats, gently curved crest rails, and upholstered drop-in or padded seats. The design originated in the early 18th century, emphasizing ergonomic curves and restrained structural proportion rather than heavy surface carving.

Historically, Queen Anne chairs were constructed from solid hardwoods such as walnut, mahogany, and maple, fitted with drop-in seats upholstered in wool, damask, or needlepoint. Period variations also included painted, lacquered, or japanned finishes over solid timber frames.

Authentic design elements include smooth cabriole legs terminating in pad, webbed, or claw-and-ball feet, curved top rails without sharp angles, and S-shaped central splats. Structural signs include traditional pegged mortise and tenon joinery and natural patination on untamed structural joints.

Lacquered or painted Queen Anne chairs integrate into French Chateau, Rustic Farmhouse, or eclectic dining spaces. Combining painted chairs with a natural timber dining table creates visual contrast between formal historical silhouettes and relaxed surface finishes.

Maintain painted lacquer finishes by dusting regularly with a clean, dry microfibre cloth, keeping timber away from direct radiators or moist air. Upholstered seats should be vacuumed gently using a soft brush attachment and cleaned with fabric-appropriate treatments.
