Rare C18th pair of Chinese Huanghuali side chairs; of an eccentric form with excellent rich colour and patina; the yoke shaped top rail above the exaggerated curved back having a fabulous rake with a central well figured solid splat; above the upholstered drop in seats housed in a traditional frame raised on very curvaceous slender cabriole legs terminating in club pad feet. With square kick out legs to the back all united by very well turned ''H'' stretchers. The drop in seats upholstered in yellow silk fabric.
