A beautifully large antique French pier mirror dating from the late 19th Century. The frame is carved wood and gesso with a stylish twisted rope design and oval corner pieces. It has its original mercury mirror plate and pine backboards. It could be used either landscape or portrait. It is in good condition for its age and displays well. The gilded frame is in good condition with small losses and minor damages around the edges. There is some is some signs of old wood worm in the backboards and the edges of the frame, which has all been treated as a precaution. There is also some minor wear on the mirror plate but nothing detrimental. It has been lightly cleaned and is ready for use.
