A 19th century French giltwood wing-back armchair, with foliate and ribbon carved frame and feather filled loose seat cushion, raised on channel moulded tapering supports, upholstered in a lovely duck egg blue silk damask fabric.
The chair is in good structural order with some wear to the gilding (it is gold leaf and not painted). The fabric is worn, particularly at the front edge of the seat, however it has been repaired/patched in the past and this could possibly be done again as some areas (i.e. the back panel) are sound and it''s an extremely expensive French silk fabric of some considerable age. Alternatively I can completely re-cover and supply new fabric - please contact me for further details.
115cm high, 67cm wide max, the seat 53cm deep and 47cm high.
