Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Georgian wing chair dates to around 1760 and is formed from Cuban mahogany and dark brown leather. The high winged backrest and arms are trimmed with individual brass studs following the contours of the hide, while the seat incorporates a visible section of faded patterned tapestry fabric beneath worn leather edges. The mahogany framework comprises straight square legs joined by a sturdy H-stretcher. Signs of age and historic wear appear across the leather upholstery, particularly along the seat edges and arms, showing patination from centuries of use. Practical placement suits a traditional study, a gentleman's library, or a reading corner as a statement armchair.

Originating in late 17th-century England and widely produced throughout the 18th century, a wing chair (or easy chair) features side wings designed to protect the sitter from draughts and retain heat from an open hearth.

Traditional 18th-century wing chairs were constructed with solid hardwood frames, such as oak or mahogany, upholstered in leather or natural wool fabrics, and secured with hand-tacked brass studs.

Authentic period pieces feature hand-carved hardwood frame elements, traditional mortise and tenon joinery, original brass upholstery tacks, and historic wear along the stretchers and armrests.

An antique leather wing chair functions as a focal accent piece alongside contemporary side tables, integrated into a dedicated reading nook, or positioned adjacent to a fireplace.

Maintain antique leather by positioning it away from direct heat sources, dusting regularly with a soft dry cloth, and applying specialised leather conditioner periodically to prevent cracking.
