Billy Hunt and Co is located on a large Victorian farm just a short country drive from the Rangemore village, a designated conservation area, which was built by Michael Thomas Bass in the 1850s to house the Bass Rangemore Estate workers consisting mainly of Victorian redbrick cottages and the occasional barn.

Our home is a classic Victorian designed and well equipped late 19th century 2 story red brick built barn of some 4000 sq feet nestled in classic English countryside, which enjoyed a careful full renovation in 2000. The estate still benefits being managed in the traditional manner with an Estate Manger, estate carpenter, gardeners etc. A rather delightful place to have as our work space.

Martina, there is no Billy at Billy hunt, has led the team since 2103 and is an interior designer qualified from The Inchbald School of Design London whose previous working life included such clients as Vertu, Aston Martin and Johnnie Walker to name a few.

Please do not hesitate to call or email if you have any questions on the pieces that may interest you - Many thanks Martina

This is an Art Deco armchair made by Heal’s around 1930. The structure consists of an off-white painted beech bentwood frame with curved armrests and sled-style feet, supporting a neat-sized seat and an upright back. The newly reupholstered textile by Duresta displays a green and off-white botanical tree top foliage pattern, contrasted against the pale timber finish. Overall, the chair measures Height 78cm x Width 52cm x Depth 67cm, with a seat height of 40cm, a seat width of 45cm, and a seat depth of 46cm. In a contemporary home, this armchair serves as an occasional seat in a living room, a bedroom corner, or a study. The compact proportions suit smaller spaces while providing comfortable seating. The neutral tones of the painted bentwood frame combine with the patterned textile to integrate into both traditional and modern interior settings.

Art Deco bentwood furniture combines the geometric modernism of the 1920s and 1930s with steam-bent timber frames, producing structural strength alongside fluid, curved silhouettes.

Frames were typically constructed from steamed hardwoods such as beech or oak, finished with lacquer or paint, and fitted with padded spring seating covered in woven textiles.

Authentic pieces frequently feature maker badges, small inset ivory or brass markers, distinctively proportioned bentwood frames, and construction quality characteristic of Heal & Son.

Position the piece as a standalone accent chair alongside modern minimalist side tables, or pair it within a living room scheme featuring neutral mid-century elements.

Clean painted timber frames with a soft dry cloth, and vacuum the textile upholstery gently using a soft brush attachment to remove dust.
