We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Georgian dressing mirrors, often referred to as toilet mirrors or dressing glasses, gained popularity in the 18th century as personal grooming and vanity items became essential components of elite domestic life.

These pieces were typically constructed from hardwoods such as mahogany, walnut, or oak, frequently featuring fine veneers, brass hardware, and hand-silvered glass plates.

Authentic pieces often exhibit period-correct construction techniques such as hand-cut dovetails, old secondary woods, original mercury glass with minor oxidisation, and hand-turned brass finials.

An antique mirror can be placed on a modern chest of drawers or a console table to introduce historical contrast, warmth, and reflective light into a contemporary bedroom or hallway.

Preservation involves keeping the piece away from direct sunlight and extreme humidity fluctuations, using microfibre cloths for dusting, and avoiding harsh chemical polishes on aged wood and historic finishes.
