We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the nineteenth century, childrens high chairs evolved from functional domestic necessities into more ornate, mass-produced items often mimicking adult furniture styles such as Windsor or spindle-back designs.

Traditional high chairs were typically constructed from local hardwoods such as birch, oak, ash, or elm, often featuring woven rush or cane seats and turned spindle supports.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit period construction techniques such as hand-turned wood components, mortise and tenon joints, square-headed or slotted handmade screws, and natural patina consistent with age.

An antique high chair can be used as a standalone decorative object in a living room corner, as a display stand for plants, or integrated into a nursery to add historical character and warmth.

Preserve antique wooden furniture by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent cracking, dusting with a dry microfibre cloth, and occasionally applying microcrystalline wax.
