Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Regency style, spanning roughly from 1811 to 1820, drew heavy inspiration from classical Greek, Roman, and Egyptian forms, often featuring clean lines, restrained ornamentation, and architectural symmetry alongside bamboo-turned or spindle-back details in regional pieces.

These chairs typically utilised native hardwoods such as ash, elm, beech, or oak for the structural frame, combined with woven dried marsh rush or seagrass for the seat, secured around a steam-bent wooden frame.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit period joinery techniques such as pegged mortise and tenon joints, hand-turned spindles showing tool marks, natural patination on the wood surfaces, and traditional woven rush degradation consistent with age.

An antique rush seat armchair adds organic texture and historic contrast when paired with modern minimalist furniture, used as an accent piece in a study, or positioned next to a clean-lined neutral sofa.

Keep the chair away from direct heat sources and strong sunlight to prevent the wood and rush from drying out and snapping, and clean gently with a dry or barely damp microfiber cloth without using harsh chemical polishes.
