FAQs

Scrying mirrors are historical tools traditionally used for divination, meditation, and attempting to perceive visions or future events through a dark, reflective surface.

Authentic period pieces are typically crafted from regional hardwoods such as oak or fruitwood, hand-carved using traditional chisel techniques, and fitted with convex or darkened glass.

Authentification relies on examining tool marks, timber shrinkage, patina, wear patterns appropriate to age, and the construction methods of the frame and mirror plate.

This piece works effectively as a focal point on a dark-painted wall, paired with minimalist surroundings to highlight its intricate carving and historical character.

Maintain the piece by keeping it out of direct sunlight, applying occasional microcrystalline wax to the wooden frame, and cleaning the mirror plate gently with a dry or barely damp cloth.
