We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Howard and Sons was established in London in the early 19th century and became renowned for producing exceptionally high-quality upholstered furniture, patented designs, and supplying pieces to royal households and prominent residences.

Authentic pieces typically feature robust beech frames, traditional hand-tied coil spring systems, horsehair stuffing, and heavy ticking, supported by turned timber legs fitted with brass castors.

Genuine pieces often feature stamped or numbered brass castors, paper manufacturer labels on the webbing or underframe, and distinctive structural proportions characteristic of late 19th-century London cabinet making.

They serve as exceptional statement seating in contemporary living spaces, pairing effectively with minimalist architectural elements, neutral walls, and contrasting textures to highlight their heritage design.

Protect the fabric from direct sunlight to prevent fading, vacuum gently using a low-suction attachment, and ensure the wooden frame and brass castors are kept dry and treated with appropriate conservation methods.
