Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Biscuit boxes gained immense popularity during the Victorian era as mass production and refined dining habits made biscuits a staple of formal tea services, often crafted in ornate combinations of silver plate and exotic or native woods.

These items typically feature a robust wooden carcass, commonly oak or walnut, heavily mounted with silver-plated brass or copper mounts, hinges, and carrying handles.

Authenticity is usually verified through period-appropriate construction methods such as hand-cut screws, silver plate hallmarks or makers marks, and natural age-related patina on both the timber and metal.

This piece works effectively as a focal point on a sideboard, console table, or open shelving unit, bringing textural contrast through its combination of warm wood and polished metal.

Preservation requires keeping the item away from direct sunlight and humidity fluctuations, periodically cleaning the silver plate with a non-abrasive polish, and occasionally treating the wood with microcrystalline wax.
