We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Windsor chairs originated in England during the early 18th century, developing from vernacular woodworking traditions where individual members were tenoned into a solid wooden seat.

Traditional construction typically utilised multiple timber species, combining a dense fruitwood or elm for the sculpted seat, yew or ash for the bentwood bow and spindles, and beech for the turned underframe.

Authenticity is determined by examining tool marks, hand-turned components, timber shrinkage, construction joints such as wedged through-tenons, and the natural patina developed over centuries of use.

An antique wooden chair adds organic texture and historical contrast when paired with minimalist modern dining tables or positioned as a standalone accent piece in a neutral room.

Preservation involves maintaining stable indoor humidity levels, avoiding direct sunlight and heat sources, and occasionally treating the timber with traditional microcrystalline wax rather than modern silicone polishes.
