Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Treen refers to small, functional wooden household objects and utilitarian items hand-turned or carved from wood, with the peak of British craftsmanship spanning from the 17th through the 19th centuries.

These items were predominantly crafted from dense hardwoods such as lignum vitae, boxwood, and sycamore, often shaped using a pole lathe to achieve precise turned profiles.

Authentic pieces exhibit natural age-related patina, tool marks consistent with hand-turning methods, dense weight characteristic of historic timbers like lignum vitae, and appropriate wear patterns around the aperture.

Place the piece on a bookshelf, desk, or mantelpiece to introduce organic warmth, rich wood tones, and textural contrast to modern minimalist or transitional spaces.

Maintain the wood by keeping it away from direct sunlight and dramatic fluctuations in humidity, occasionally treating the surface with neutral microcrystalline wax to preserve the natural finish.
