Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Regency style, spanning roughly from 1811 to 1820, drew heavily from neoclassical, Greek, Roman, and Egyptian influences, characterised by formal symmetry, classical motifs, and architectural proportions.

Regency mirrors were typically crafted from gesso over a carved softwood or pine base, finished with gold leaf application, and often featured ebonised slip details surrounding the original glass plate.

Authentic pieces often exhibit period construction methods such as hand-cut joinery, oxidised original gilding, foxing or silver loss on the antique glass plate, and heavy architectural cornices.

A classical gilt mirror can be mounted above a minimalist console or fireplace to create a striking contrast between historical texture and modern clean lines.

Dust the frame gently with a dry, soft-bristled brush and avoid all chemical cleaning agents or moisture, which can permanently damage fragile water or oil gilding.
