Description

An absolutely delightful small chair from the Victorian era. It is made in beech with its original 19th century skilfully applied paint-stain rosewood finish. The cane seat is in superb condition - the best you ever see in a chair of this age - and the delicate intertwined-stick uprights to the back support are all original without a single breakage or repair. The gracefully outswept front legs are united by double curved stretchers. Height of seat 44cm (13 1/2”). This charming little chair - the prettiest we've seen in many years - is English, and it dates from c.1870 - c.1890.
