Christopher Buck Antiques Ltd. has dated this Yellow Japanned Sewing Box to the 19th Century.
Raised on four gilt ball feet with appear to be original.
Inside the lid is a fully fitted interior with various comartments, some with lids, all lined in a fine pink silk damask. The doors at the front enclose a cream coloured interior, decorated with further temples to the insides of the doors and flowers to the drawer fronts, which also retain the original handles and are lined with pink sugar paper to match the silk.
In excellent condition for the age with bright colours complete decoration without major areas of damage and only minor wear and tear as would be expected.
