Good quality table top desk in Welsh oak, the slope fixed with original wrought iron butterfly hinges and decorated in brass studs with the initials ''T LL'' and the date ''1732'', above a front section with an iron lockplate and the carved initials ''T M'' flanked by diamonds and above a line of punchmarks, the sides with moulded decoration and the interior fitted with a shelf above three drawers with ring handles.
The desk is circa 1660 and the initials on the front represent the original owner, with the initials and date on the fall representing a later owner, probably a descendant. The double ''L'' on the latter indicates a Welsh surname such as Llewellyn or Lloyd
