Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Secure Transit

FAQs

Regency furniture, spanning roughly from 1811 to 1820, is characterised by classical symmetry, classical revival motifs inspired by ancient Greece and Rome, and the use of dark exotic timbers such as rosewood and mahogany.

Cabinetmakers primarily utilised dense tropical hardwoods like rosewood and mahogany, often enhanced with brass inlay, carved details, and traditional joinery methods such as mortise and tenon.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit period-appropriate hand-cut joinery, genuine timber ageing characteristics like grain oxidation, and occasionally maker stamps or labels from renowned workshops such as Gillows.

Pairing these classical wooden chairs with a minimalist contemporary dining table creates a striking juxtaposition that highlights the craftsmanship of the antique pieces while keeping the space feeling fresh and balanced.

Maintain antique rosewood by keeping it out of direct sunlight to prevent fading, avoiding excessive humidity fluctuations, and periodically applying a microcrystalline wax to nourish the wood without building up residue.
