Superb Quality Victorian Figured Walnut Antique Pier Cabinet
Dating from around 1870, this superb quality 19th century Walnut Antique Pier Cabinet has a beautifully figured top above a stunning inlaid frieze. Beneath is one glazed door with the original key escutcheon and key with working lock. The interior comprises of two shelves with original / early velvet lining. The frame on this fine antique cabinet is elegantly inlaid with cross banding and brass ormolu mounts and the whole piece stands on small shaped bracket feet. The walnut has aged to a golden shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
