We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Hepplewhite style, popular during the late 18th century, is characterised by graceful curves, slender proportions, neoclassical motifs, and fine timber craftsmanship, frequently utilising mahogany and delicate stringing.

These pieces were typically constructed from solid mahogany or mahogany veneers over secondary softwoods, featuring hand-cut dovetail joints on the drawers and pivoting brass side screws to hold the mirror frame.

Authentic period pieces display period-appropriate secondary woods like pine or oak, hand-forged or cast brass hardware, traditional foxing or oxidisation on the original glass plate, and hand-cut joinery without modern fasteners.

An antique mirror can be placed on a modern chest of drawers or a sideboard to introduce historical texture, warmth, and reflective light into a contemporary bedroom or hallway setting.

Maintain the timber using high-quality beeswax applied sparingly, avoid silicone-based polishes, keep the piece away from direct sunlight and heat sources, and clean the mirror glass with a dry or barely damp microfiber cloth.
