We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This set of six 1930s dining chairs belongs to the Cotswold School style and is made from solid oak with a warm golden brown finish. Each chair features a shaped stepped central back splat, square tapering legs, and a drop-in seat pad upholstered in a patterned yellow fabric. Copper maker labels are affixed to the frames. The seats measure 48 cm high, with overall dimensions of 90 cm high, 47 cm wide, and 48 cm deep. These chairs suit daily use around a dining table in an English Country House setting, providing comfortable seating for family meals and gatherings. Their clean lines and natural timber grain complement traditional and period interiors while offering practical utility for dining rooms and kitchen spaces alike.

Interwar Cotswold School and Gordon Russell furniture is defined by simplified geometric forms, emphasis on natural timber grain, and high-standard craftsmanship that bridges traditional handwork with modern manufacturing.

Chairs from this period were predominantly constructed from solid English oak or walnut, using traditional mortise and tenon joinery alongside woven textile or leather upholstery.

Authentic pieces frequently bear a paper or copper makers label fixed to the underside of the seat frame, detailing the designer, maker, and date, alongside distinctive chamfered splat design.

These structured timber chairs pair well with simple oak or natural stone tables, creating a balanced aesthetic in contemporary, modern minimalist, or period dining rooms.

Clean the oak timber with a dry microfibre cloth, apply clear beeswax sparingly once or twice a year, and gently vacuum the upholstery fabric using a brush attachment.
