This nineteenth-century French Louis Philippe wall mirror is constructed from timber, gesso, glass, and giltwood. The rectangular frame exhibits arched upper corners, a soft cross design, a beaded inner moulding, incised geometric engraving, and an exposed red bole beneath worn gold leaf and cream gesso. Original heavy glass and original backboards complete the piece. It measures 99 cm high and 73 cm wide. Suitable for placement above the mantel in a living room, hallway, or bedroom, the mirror provides a decorative focal point while reflecting light around the space. The gold and off-white colour scheme complements traditional and transitional interiors.
