Penderyn Antiques has dated this Antique Oak Bobbin Armchair to the Victorian era.
The scrolling arms are formed from matching bobbin-turned rails, supported on turned uprights. The solid oak seat sits above a substantial seat frame, raised on four turned legs joined by matching bobbin-turned stretchers to the front, sides and rear. The oak has been stripped to a pale natural finish and recently finished with a fresh coat of natural wax.

CONDITION REPORT:
In good antique condition, the chair is structurally solid and sound. There are marks, scratches, staining and general signs of age and use throughout. The solid seat shows areas of wear and discolouration consistent with its age and use, as shown in the photographs. The stripped oak displays natural variation in colour and patination, with some areas darker than others. The turned components remain well defined, with the frame retaining its decorative detail throughout.

As with all our antique furniture, the chair has been carefully inspected by our experienced carpenter and any necessary repairs or restoration work undertaken to ensure it is structurally sound. Please study all accompanying photographs, which form an important part of the condition report.
