We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Edwardian sterling silver flirting mirror displays an Art Nouveau design on the back, featuring floral repousse, lily motifs, and whiplash foliage. The circular top section connects to a flared side handle that terminates in a suspension ring. The silver possesses a bright metallic colour and a polished finish. Visible details include a hallmarked maker mark for Birmingham silversmiths Robert Pringle, embossed relief flower decoration, and a small metal loop hardware attached to the bottom. The object measures 6.5 cm high and 3 cm wide. In a contemporary home, this small vanity accessory sits upon a bedside table as a decorative tabletop piece. The sterling silver construction provides a reflective surface while the compact scale allows placement on dressing tables, display shelves, or decorative trays. The incorporated hanging loop permits alternative display options such as wall hanging or attachment to chatelaine chains.

A flirting mirror, often attached to a chatelaine or carried in a small handbag during the late Victorian and Edwardian eras, is a compact hand mirror used for personal grooming and discreet social signaling.

These mirrors typically featured embossed sterling silver backings decorated using repousse and chasing techniques, fitted over a resin substrate to secure the bevelled glass mirror plate.

Authentic British pieces bear official silver hallmarks indicating the purity mark, city assay mark, date letter, and makers mark alongside characteristic organic floral motifs and flowing whiplash lines.

Display the silver mirror laid flat on a mirrored dressing tray, propped on a bedroom vanity table, or mounted within a glass shadow box among historical vanity accessories.

Clean silver gently using a soft microfibre cloth and specialised silver polish, avoiding submersion in liquid solutions to protect the internal mirror backing and prevent oxidisation.
