The shaped backs are particularly attractive, with flowing moulded frames, carved leaf ornament to the upper section and further carved scrollwork to the lower back. The overall design has a light and graceful appearance, typical of mid-Victorian dining furniture.
Each chair stands on slender cabriole front legs with carved detail to the knees, together with gently swept rear legs. The seats are upholstered in a pale cream fabric and finished with decorative braid edging.
A stylish and useful set of four Victorian dining chairs with good colour and attractive proportions, suitable for use around a dining table or as occasional chairs.
