Description

Rare set of swedish art deco elm klismos dining chairs circa 1930.

We are pleased to offer this large set of scandinavian dining chairs, although this set has 2 different covering fabrics they were from the same home and was such a large set that it was spread over to rooms.

Klismos style shaped backs for comfort, these chairs are each made in burr elm and feature an egyptian inspired inlaid facing griffin to each back rest.  elegant and simple design with ample seat.  each standing on 4 tapering legs and bakelite tipped feet.  likely to have been made by nordiska kompaniet.

Rich golden colour.  very minor restorations to woodwork as to be expected with a set of chairs approaching their 100th birthday.  minor surface marks to woodwork and bakelite tips.

Superb set and rare to find a quantity of this number.
