This French silver gilt bistro mirror dates from around 1880, representing nineteenth-century continental design. The rectangular piece comprises a reflective glass plate held within a simple moulded wooden frame displaying a rounded profile. The surface exhibits a silver-leaf finish over a dark bole ground, showing visible signs of distress and age. At the reverse sits a protective paper backing.
