Exceptional and rare George II mahogany Windsor type armchair; good large scale with excellent rich colour and patina; the waisted shaped back having a slender moulded edge with a shaped crest rail above a double row of finely turned spindles; the wide outswept arms of exaggerated form on carved scrolled supports having carved ''c'' scrolls; above the generous solid mahogany dished seat, with scrolled front corners; raised on substantial cabriole front legs terminating in pad feet, with swept legs to the rear, joined by traditional ''H'' stretchers of a well turned design.
