A rectangular Rosewood inlaid with Satinwood interior stationery / writing box.
Opens to reveal the fitted satinwood interior with writing implements supported on the underside of the lid. An embossed leather writing slope, with spring clip lid, which opens to reveal storage for papers within. Inside the main body are Satinwood letter racks, 2 compartments within one drawer, with original brass knobs, A pen and ink tray with two ink wells. Bramah lock with original key. Lovely quality, colour and condition.
Dated: c.1860-70.
