A very fine giltwood overmantel mirror dating from 1840.
Retaining it''s original water-gilding which is in amazing overall condition, wonderful contrast between the matt and burnished highlights.
All decoration is of carved wood and is deeply undercut, offering a wonderful three dimensional effect, top quality. Reeded columns are also are very well worked.
Mirror plate has a lovely overall grey tone to the reflection and light overall foxing.
Complete with original backing board and white ceramic bun feet.
Sizes 172 cm tall, 148 cm max width at top, 140 cm wide at base.
