Description

A Sheraton oval tea caddy

Veneered with striped figured harewood, the brass hinged lid with boxwood stringing, inlaid with oval boxwood panel decorated with floral penwork, the panel repeated to the front. The interior with a mahogany oval lid with turned ivory handle and within traces of tea box lining.

English, circa 1780–1800

This object incorporates old ivory and has been registered with Defra.
