A walnut cased campaign kit shaving mirror

The shaped case opens to an oval shaving mirror with ebony stringing . The frame folding out to form an easel and closes to protect the looking glass. Can also be hung from the loop to the back.

English, circa 1840-1880

Folding campaign mirrors, used by the military when in the field for shaving and generally keeping up appearances, they fold flat to make them portable.
