A British Railways Fusee Wall Clock With An 8" Dial. formerly Of Lymington Town Station (hampshire). circa 1875.

A good example of a small mahogany dial clock by John Walker of London.
 
The 8 day duration, gut fusee movement with Anchor Recoil escapement, stopwork to the winding and backplate screw-fixed and front-pinned, shaped pillars.
 
Behind an 8'' diameter, flat painted iron dial with its original paintwork. Having an outer, divided minute track with triangular hour markings, inner, Roman hour numerals and the centre being written with ''B. R. S. (brackets removed from the ''S'' but can still be seen if closely looked at) JOHN WALKER, 1 SOUTH MOLTON ST.'' above the centre and ''LONDON 80 S.W.'' below the centre. The paired steel hands are painted black and are behind a hinged and glazed spun brass bezel and sight ring.
 
Contained in a dark mahogany circular case with a one-piece, pegged-on dial surround and a backbox with a side access door to the right. The curved bottom also has a curved, locking and cockbeaded regulation door. The clock also comes with over 50 platform and rail tic...
