This is a really imposing and substantial Japanese Imari vase in super condition dating from around 1860.
The vase is very well designed with a good panelled shape to the body and hexagonal tapering neck that gives this a great look. Each hexagonal section has typical Imari floral designs hand painted in red ironstone and deep cobalt blue with floral sprays to the neck and inside around the rim.
This is in super condition save for a small rim repair that is really only visible from above. (See last photo)
This is a really decorative and imposing piece that adds a great style to any setting.
The vase measures 48 cms high by in 30 cms in diameter.
