Porcelain has been made at Worcester since the mid-18th century, and ornamental vases became a staple of the output alongside tea and table wares. The word 'royal' carries nine titles in ten on Sellingantiques, so the vase you are most likely to meet is a Royal Worcester one with painted decoration and, often, a painter's signature on the body.
Painting is the defining feature. Painted appears in more than a quarter of titles and signed in around a sixth.
