This Regency period porcelain campana vase by Flight, Barr and Barr Worcester dates from 1815 to 1820. The white-glazed body rests on a square plinth picked out in gold and bronze, with an inverted bell shape supported by gilded ring handles held in eagle beaks, and a beaded rim moulding below the lip. The front and reverse show hand-painted floral sprays and butterflies, while the interior of the rim features a chocolate ground with gilt decoration, and script marks appear on the base. Professional restoration affects an area of the rim and the ring handles. Practical dimensions measure 11 cm high and 8.5 cm wide. Display this vase on a mantelpiece or side table in a sitting room or study as a decorative focal point. The classic Regency style integrates smoothly into traditional interiors, complementing period furniture or adding historic character to contemporary spaces as a standalone ornament.

Flight, Barr and Barr refers to the operational period of the Worcester porcelain factory between 1813 and 1840 under the partnership of Joseph Flight, Martin Barr, and George Barr. The era is recognised for producing high-quality soft-paste porcelain decorated with elaborate gilding, classical forms, and finely painted enamel florals or landscapes.

Regency porcelain from Worcester utilised a refined soft-paste porcelain body, fired at high temperatures before receiving hand-painted enamel decoration. Gilding was applied using mercury amalgam techniques, which was then burnished to achieve a bright, durable finish alongside press-moulded beaded details.

Authentic pieces frequently bear impressed marks such as FBB crowned, or printed red backstamps indicating the Coventry Street London shop address. In addition, examine the precise quality of the gilding, the presence of pearl moulding, and the distinctive translucent quality of early 19th-century Worcester paste.

A Regency porcelain urn works as a focal point on a fireplace mantelpiece, marble console table, or within an illuminated display cabinet. Pairing fine antique ceramics with contemporary minimalist backdrop surfaces highlights the hand-painted detailing and classic geometric proportions.

Clean antique gilded porcelain using a dry, soft-bristled brush or microfibre cloth to remove dust. Avoid chemical cleansers, abrasive pads, or immersing the object in water, as moisture and friction can erode overglaze enamels and original mercury gilding.
