An attractive pair of Royal Worcester blush ivory porcelain vases from the famous Persian Range. Produced in 1902 and 1903, the vases combine finely hand-painted floral decoration with richly gilded dolphin handles and moulded ornament.The shape, numbered 1578, is among the most appealing forms produced within the range. Each vase is painted with a different floral arrangement, reflecting the individual workmanship for which Worcester became renowned. Floral painting was one of the factory''s greatest specialities, and the subtle variation between the bouquets demonstrates the hand-painted nature of the decoration.Both retain the printed Royal Worcester mark, Registration Number 188681, shape number 1578 and hand-painted initials. The Registration Number records the original registration of the design in 1892, while the Worcester date marks identify production in 1902 and 1903.
