Pair of Royal Worcester Vases with Painted Pheasants by James Stinton

Description

A pair of hand-painted, reticulated vases on four legs, featuring pheasants against a woodland background. Signed 'James Stinton.' Dated 1908. Pattern G 42.

The vases are painted by the distinguished master James Stinton, a member of the famous Stinton family. James Stinton was the youngest son of John Stinton Sr. and the brother of John Stinton Jr. He started at Graingers in 1889, moving to Royal Worcester in 1902, specializing in feathered game.

Height: 14.6 cm

Diameter: 6.8 cm

Condition: Both vases have cracks, but these are only visible on the inside and not at all on the outside. On one of the vases, a crack is visible at the bottom. These cracks do not affect the appearance of the vases. Overall, the vases are in excellent condition, with excellent preservation of the paint, enamel, and gilding.
