This Edwardian posy vase originates from the 1910 period and takes a traditional baluster shape with a narrow neck and a gilt rim. The body is formed from cream porcelain with hand-painted polychrome decoration depicting two brown Highland cattle grazing among rocky ground beneath a misty mountain landscape rendered in purple, yellow and grey tones. The exterior surface carries a glossy, high-shine glaze, and the piece measures 10.5 cm high, 6.5 cm wide and 6.5 cm deep. Today, this small vessel finds a natural home displayed upon a mantelpiece, a sideboard or a display shelf within a traditional interior. It serves as an accent decorative object, well-suited for holding a few short-stemmed fresh blooms or dried stems, or standing on its own as a cabinet piece to highlight the detailed animal and landscape painting.

Royal Worcester porcelain decorated by members of the Stinton family features detailed hand-painted landscapes, predominantly depicting Highland cattle or game birds, produced in England throughout the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

These pieces are crafted from bone china or porcelain, decorated using coloured enamel glazes and accent pigments, and trimmed with gilt rim accents.

Authentic examples bear printed factory date codes or backstamps on the base, accompanied by painter signatures near the lower edge of the artwork and hand-applied gilding.

Place the vase on a fireplace mantelpiece, sideboard top, or bookshelf alongside contemporary books and simple glassware to create visual balance.

Dust the ceramic vessel with a soft microfibre cloth and clean gently using lukewarm water and mild soap, avoiding harsh chemicals or abrasive sponges that could strip the gilding.
