An outstanding pair of antique French gilt wood salon armchairs, dating from around the 1890-1910 period.They are of superb quality, with gorgeous carving throughout. They sit on fluted legs with carved rosettes at the knees, there is acanthus leaf carving on the armrests and there is beautiful cornucopia carving at the top of the backrests. The back rests are beautifully caned with a lovely fanned weave.The gilt finish has just the right amount of wear, with different colours coming through the gilt. The frames are solid and perfectly distressed with a lovely patina.
