Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Victorian Rococo Revival mirrors feature intricate scrollwork, acanthus leaf cresting, and elaborate floral motifs inspired by 18th-century French designs. Popular in the late 19th century, these tabletop mirrors served as functional decorative pieces for dressing tables and vanity sets.

These pieces were typically cast using sand casting or lost-wax methods in solid brass, featuring an easel back mechanism for support. The frame often includes detailed moulding surrounding a glass plate or aperture held in place by metal tabs or wooden backing.

Authentic late 19th-century brass mirrors often exhibit natural patination and slight surface oxidisation in recessed areas rather than uniform modern plating. Additionally, look for hand-cut screws, cast mould lines, or natural wear on the rear easel support and hinge.

A small brass table mirror can be styled atop a chest of drawers, a mantelpiece, or a bedside table alongside contemporary ceramics or books. Its warm metallic tone adds contrast and historical texture to modern neutral palettes.

Dust the ornate brass frame regularly with a soft dry brush or microfibre cloth to prevent dirt buildup in carved details. Avoid aggressive chemical polishes that strip historical patina, opting instead for gentle preservation waxes if protection is needed.
