Charming French Jewellery/trinket Box

Description

A pretty and lovely quality French TRINKET or JEWELLERY CASKET of unusual 'hexafoil' shape.  Beautifully decorated with scrolls and leaves around the sides, the lid is inset with six hand-painted oval portraits (on card) of elegant ladies, each separated by cast laurel leaves and arranged around a larger circular and signed central portrait of a a charming young lady dressed in a lace gown with a matching scarf in her hair.  Lined with its original pastel green velvet this delightful casket measures. French, possibly Palais Royale?
