Antique Burmese Carved Padouk Chair

A handsome antique Burmese or Anglo-Indian carved Padouk chair dating from the late 19th Century. The really good quality, ornately carved and pierced back features a central wild boar cartouche within a network of foliage and vines intertwined around a pair of birds. The seat is upholstered in an attractive floral needlepoint tapestry on a cream ground and the seat rail and legs are profusely carved with foliage and animals, the knees with rams heads and the feet with eagles. In good condition, solid and sturdy with wonderful colour displaying its original patina. Would make a great bedroom dressing table chair or desk chair.

Good condition. Solid and sturdy frame. Lovely age and patina to the wood. Wear and marks commensurate with age. Upholstery in good condition, a few small marks here and there.
