A 19th century mahogany brass bound writing slope. Brass corners with vacant shaped engraving plate, matching escutcheon plate and working lock with key. The interior with beautiful black gilt tooled skiver above a bank of concealed or ''secret'' drawers, pen tray and nib holder. The bottom board lifts and is fitted with latticed ribbon to hold papers, letters etc. No inkwells but a reproduction pair can be supplied at £30 on request.
