Beautifully made in the best quality, Whitehaven antique mahogany. All ten antique dining chairs are in superb, strong condition, a lovely ample model featuring X shaped back rests with bulls eye centres, along with reeded uprights. The traditional upholstered seats are drop ins and the chairs stand on square tapering legs that are joined by stretchers. They are all a very good, original rich colour. Whitehaven was a busy port in Cumbria in the 18th century where the best mahogany was brought in, hence the name Whitehaven mahogany. This is a fabulous set of ten Georgian antique dining chairs that date to around 1780.
