Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 1860s.
They are beautifully made and are of very fine quality, with exquisite details. They have typical Victorian spoon backs and sit on cabriole legs.

They would have originally had caned seats which have been upholstered over long ago, the vintage fabric presents well but has some wear and tear. The chairs are very delicate by nature due to the material used, they can be sat on but with extreme care, they are more for decorative purpose. There are some small cracks and gaps here and there, one chair has an antique timber reinforcement on the back.
