This late nineteenth or early twentieth century Syrian or Levantine wall mirror dates from around 1900. The frame consists of dark brown timber inlaid with cream mother-of-pearl and bone, incorporating carved floral arabesques, pierced cresting, and geometrical mosaic panels alongside turned mashrabiya sections. A rectangular mirror plate sits at the centre, surrounded by the ornate border and capped by a dramatic cresting rail with scrolled terminals and pointed feet at the base. Minor historic losses to the inlay mark the piece. Measuring 91 cm high, 57 cm wide, and 5 cm deep, this Ottoman-style hanging mirror suits placement above a mantelpiece or as an accent piece in a hallway or living space.
