The focal point of the piece is the detailed carving to the top of the backrest, depicting the Lion of Lucerne—a famous monument in Switzerland commemorating the Swiss Guards who died in 1792 during the French Revolution. Beneath the lion is the engraving ''MDCCXCII,'' the Roman numerals for the year 1792, further anchoring this chair in a meaningful historical context.
