A Victorian carved spinning chair, often referred to as a pokerwork or Welsh chair, dating to the late 19th century. The tall tapering backrest features geometric chip-carved panels and a cloverleaf-shaped handhold, while the octagonal seat is similarly decorated with incised folk motifs. Raised on four turned legs, the chair is compact in scale and finished in a dark stain typical of its period. A decorative vernacular piece with strong visual presence.
